Forum of Wielkopolska's NGO's for disabled people
(WIFOON)

Forum is an umbrella organization for NGO's of disabled people (people with mental disability and hearing impairment, physically disabled people, infantile paralysis, polio, mentally ill people, epileptics) established in 2003. Our non-profit organization gathers the biggest 17 societies in our region (Wielkopolska). Forum is autonomic association, independent of national and local authorities or political organizations. Our strategy is to support NGO’s for disabled in negotiation with administration to settle a disputes, make positive effect on legal changes in social law, build stronger coalition of NGO’s to solve problems jointly, make platform for discussion of disabled people’s problems and provoke a public discussion on it.
Other aims of our organization are:
-    integrating local society of disabled people, self-help groups, societies, NGO’s and        public institutions in aim to defend their rights,
-    reacting on different forms of discrimination,
-    promoting cooperation between local and international NGO’s,
-    to represent interests of NGO’s acting with disabled people,
-    legal and economic consultancy for NGO’s
-    supporting NGO’s in negotiations with administration.
 
Forum provides various form of actions, which aim is to integrate disabled with society, support and promote NGO’s  in their purposes and represent their interests for national and local government:

•    NGO's Information Centre which offers unpaid  professional scholarships of writing projects, finding partners and building partnerships, fundraising, audit, etc. Our Centre also prepare information publications.
•    project “Job assistant – promotion and implementation of new type of service on the labor market for disabled people” - offers personal and psychological consultancy, personal help of assistant for people who are looking for a job. We  assume also help for disabled person on first period in new job (6-8 months) . The first stage of the project is the scholarship for work assistants who will assist in finding a job and adaptation for new social environment. Project’s aim is vocational reintegration of people with various disabilities.
•     Career Development of Disabled People Centre it’s the place where people with disabilities can use free:

•     advice of  vocational counselor and psychologist
•     vocational scholarships
•     support groups for people who are looking for a job and for their family
•     help of job trainer
•
